Customer stated their Focusrite interface no longer responds on Firewire, and had been repaired by Focusrite for the same problem in the past.
Identified the TI TSB41AB2 Firewire IC as the most likely point of failure and managed to remove easily thanks to ChipQuik. In fact it was apparent that the IC was not properly fitted the last time as the thermal pad on the back of the IC wasn’t even properly soldered to the board (could have been a point of failure)
Ordered replacements and prepped board in anticipation:
