Vintage, consumer and pro audio electronics repair (amongst other things) down to surface mount component level in the North West of England. Worked on electronic equipment from many different eras, from 1950’s hand-wired valve equipment to modern multi-layer surface mount and microprocessor controlled systems.

Over 40 years experience in electronics and computer systems, and a tenacious ability to fix almost anything (within reason!). A preferential focus on 1970 – 2000 equipment (which inherently is more repairable by design, with the exception of part availability – in many cases however this is not a problem as can engineer some creative solutions).

Some of the items successfully repaired over the years:

Overhaul and service/refurbishment of Reel to Reel tape machines (Revox, Studer, Otari, Teac, Tascam, Akai, Fostex etc), including mechanical strip down, relubrication, belts, calibration and full alignment of mechanical and electronics in accordance with available service data, W&F, speed, THD measurements etc.

Amplifiers, preamps, guitar amps and integrated systems of many types, both valve and solid state (Technics, Mesa Boogie, Arcam, Vox, Linn, Quad, Naim, Rotel, B&O, Fender, NAD etc).

Cassette based systems (Fostex, Tascam, Sony, Kenwood, Denon etc).

Pro-audio/PA/Mixers/Effects (Peavey, Dynacord, TLAudio, HK Audio, JBL, RCF, dB Tech, Alto, Roland, Yamaha, Bose, TC Electronic, Focusrite, Alesis, Soundcraft, Allen&Heath, Ampeg etc)

CD players, record decks, turntables (Systemdek, Toshiba, Marantz, Sansui, Goldring Lenco, Rega, JA Michell, Garrard/BSR based Dansette etc)

Embedded systems design and industrial professional services, mono-printing single pass inkjet system utilising technologies from Meteor, Digital Print, Agfa and Konica Minolta with fully automated design and embedded systems touch screen control.
